Project “Rare species" for the IAC for the support of nature conservation

Task
Create images of 13 Red Book animals for placement on coins, banknotes, souvenirs and information campaigns in order to draw public attention to the problem of endangered species.

Solution
We were faced with the task of choosing the style of illustrations and, on its basis, creating images of 13 Red Book animals of Russia. The client was offered several stylistic solutions from photorealism to stylization of animals as a mascot of characters. The choice of the client fell on the style of classic hatching. Together with the specialists of the reserves, photographs were selected that reflect the characteristics of each animal, on the basis of which we created 13 unique illustrations. The final illustrations were prepared for printing on various formats and media.

Argali or Altai mountain sheep is an artiodactyl mammal from the bovid family.

The largest member of the ram genus (Ovis), in addition, has the heaviest horns. Their weight in adult males can reach up to 35 kg.

Dzeren, or Mongolian dzeren, or goiter antelope – an ungulate animal of the genus dzeren of the bovid family.

The Przewalski’s horse is a species or subspecies of a wild horse that lives in Asia.

The snow leopard or Irbis is a large predatory feline that lives in the mountains of Central Asia.

The snow leopard is distinguished by a thin, long, flexible body, relatively short legs, a small head and a very long tail.

In the first submission, for choosing the style of illustrations, we showed a range from photorealism to stylization of rare animals as a mascot of characters.
